Tim Tebow, one of the most popular football icons who recently started a career in baseball is now shining the spotlight on others through “Night to Shine”. “Night to Shine” is a prom night sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. The foundation said the event was “our unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs”.
Every guest to the “Night to Shine” complimentary event is provided with prom attire, arrives to a cheering crowd and paparazzi as they walk down the red carpet. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment including professional photography, hair and make-up stations, corsages, and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, gifts to remember the night, special program and of course a dance floor, all leading up to the moment when each guest is crowned a king or queen of the prom.
This year’s “Night to Shine” was held in over 540 churches in 16 countries celebrating more than 90,000 “kings” and “queens”. Locally, Philadelphia Christ-Centered Fellowship was one of the hosts of this year’s event that was held in Camp Aguinaldo on February 10, 2018. Trisha Denise was given an opportunity to sing two of her songs “Sunshine” and “Mahalaga” from her recently launched album. She inspired the guests with “Sunshine” with lyrics saying “You don’t have to look down. Keep your head up. Wear your crown.” The message of “Mahalaga” also resonated with the guests and their family members/caretaker who came with them as “Mahalaga” was derived from two important Filipino words “mahal” and “alaga”. Maloi Salumbides who emceed the program with her husband, Atty. Winnie Salumbides, said “Many were in tears when you shared your song last night, Trisha Denise. You are a blessing!”. Trisha Denise also encouraged the participants with a verse from Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that fully well.”
